Today is my 500th image posted! I had another shot lined up, but will save that for tomorrow.

I spent the past couple of days on the Bruce Peninsula which extends from Owen Sound, ON to Tobermory, ON and separates Georgian Bay and Lake Huron. While there I photographed many subjects, wild and rare orchids, the cliffs of Georgian Bay, sunset's over Lake Huron and many other beautiful subjects.

This is a Showy (Queen's) Lady Slipper.

The Showy Lady's Slipper was just at the very beginning of it's blooming season and we were fortunate to find a small patch of them flowering. We did see others that had not even developed the buds yet. We photographed these on two occasions during our trip taking advantage of different lighting at different times of the day. The Showy is Canada's largest orchid and these were about 20" high.

I will post my original image I had planned for today, tomorrow, and then will post some of my shots from my trip in the days following.
