A pigeon taking flight after a night of perching on a wire. The warm colours of this photograph are deceptive, it was very cold this morning.

26. Sassafras (I think)
I spent a lot of time trying to identify this leaf. From everything that I have read, I believe it is from a sassafras tree.
I could be wrong though.

25. Fall Colours at Fireman's Park
This is another photograph from Fireman's Park I shot this past Sunday. I shot (and processed) this using the Orton Effect, which is an effect where you sandwich two images together, one in focus, one out of focus. There are a number of ways to do this, though I used the more traditional method held over from the film days for this shot.
For more information about the Orton Effect, watch my Digital Photography Tip of the Week as next week's tip will be on the Orton Effect.

24. Another Trio of Leaves
This is another trio of fallen leaves. I have another shot where I eliminated a lot of the leaves under the water (the magic of the Polarizer!) but I like this one a little better. The three on top do not stand out as much though the contrast between the leaves on top of the water against those below the water.
I also used an improvised gobo on this shot to further eliminate some of the glare on the water.

21. Long Way Down...Reprise BW
Photography has been very slow (and uninspiring) for me recently. Hopefully my shoot tomorrow will bring some more exciting work.
This is a similiar shot to what I posted yesterday, only with a Black and White conversion.

13. A Little Wet
I should really hava better image for Friday the 13th, but alas, I have another leaf, in black and white, with rain drops on it. We have had a little more than rain drops the past two days though. I had a little snow on my car after leaving work yesterday, and this morning I had to brush off my windows to clear the snow. That was in Niagara Falls. In Buffalo, just 20 minutes down the road, there was 220,000 people without power, and up to 24 inches of snow. And they talk of global warming!

12. Leaf
We have had a fair amount of rain recently and as the leaves have been falling, haven't had a chance to photograph them. So I took a few minutes yesterday to go out and do a little shooting.
Still not sure as to why I am depicting the fall colours in black and white this year?

04. Bursts of Colour
I was out Sunday night with Leanne, Carrie-Lyn and her friend Tom (who is on his first trip here from Europe) viewing Niagara Falls. Tom is a photographer as well so it worked out well that he had an opportunity to photograph Niagara Falls with the lights on AND during a fireworks show.
I had some different ideas for fireworks, one of which you will see tomorrow. This photo is a burst from that show.
