31. Daffodils #2
Another shot from yesterday. I received some flowers just after I moved in, and so needed to buy a vase. These daffodils were too small for the one that I purchased though, and I was advised against using a mason jar... the coke glass would look better I was told.

The Canadian Cancer Society has been selling Daffodils each year to help raise money for Cancer research. I received my assortment today and decided that this would make a nice shot for today's image.

26. Fixes Anything
I was shooting this for the texture and the shading on the egg, but my egg seemed to show little texture, and having only brown eggs, I wasn't even getting the effect I was looking for with the shading. Then I saw my trusty duct tape and came up with the idea of 'fixing a crack' in the egg.
I've done a version in Black and White as well.

25. Southern Comfort
Another studio shot. I've used one small flash to the right of the bottle and glass aimed at the background for a high key effect with another to the front left diffused by several layers of diffuser for a softbox type illumination. I did try to ignite the shot glass but it would not stay lit. Surprising for a 100 proof spirit. I'll try this again another time with Black Sambuca. That one will work I believe. If not, more fun trying!

23. Sawblade
I was still sick yesterday. I spent a lot of the day with Leanne in Hamilton, where I happened to have been born this day, 31 years ago.
As I am still sick, no new photo. I have some ideas, just not the energy to shoot with. Too bad, because it was such a beautiful day I am sure I would have found some nice shots in the Niagara Gorge.
This is another macro of the saw blade from my father's jigsaw currently on loan for house repairs.

This was shot at the same time I was shooting my last two posts. This shot of Leanne was only a test so I could set my exposure and make sure the camera was in focus before turning it on myself but it turned out better than expected for a test shot.

11. Self Portrait #2
Keeping up with my self portrait exercise...
I have converted this to a duotone because I wasn't sure if I like the colour in it. A straight Black and White was also not quite striking enough for my taste's.
Those who have known me for a long time may remember this pose. I have a similiar shot from 10 or 11 years ago which I think was a stronger image.
