24. Fireworks Over Niagara Falls #1
Niagara Falls celebrated the 40th anniversary of Pizza Pizza last week with a 1/2 hour long fireworks festival over Niagara Falls. There were a lot of fireworks, but not the wide variety I had expected having watched some long shows before. They were certainly better than the regular Friday night fireworks held over Niagara Falls throughout the summer months though
We don't go down to watch them very often though we can hear them from our house every night they go off.
I have been working on putting up a gallery of shots from that night. It is working in Firefox, but not Internet Explorer yet. When it is, I will publish a link to it.

23. Three Windows
This is similiar to ">yesterday's shot, only I used a little bit of a wider focal length to bring in the second window frame. I also thing it accentuates the perspective and the leading lines in the photo.

20. Lower Balls Falls Gorge
This photo doesn't really show what I saw not so long ago. The reflection of the cliff face in the pool of water below was outstanding. This photo doesn't show a good representation of the depth though.

16. Put the Right Foot Forward
So far I have been married for one month. Apart from the honeymoon (where this photo was taken) it has been a busy month. I am still getting caught up on things from when I was away as well as the time leading up to the wedding. Almost there though.

15. Tulum
This is another photo from my recent honeymoon. This is of Tulum, one of the Mayan ruins in Mexico, and the only one we visited. Tulum is also the only ruin located right on the water (so I am told).

This is one of the sunset photos I shot at Port Dalhousie the other night with the camera club. Creative use of adjusting white balance helps make for a dramatic image.

10. Sunset on the Lake
Leanne and I took a walk the other night along one of the piers a short drive from our house. I had planned an outing with my camera club there and wanted a preview of what I'd be in for. This is one of the shots from that evening.
Tomorrow I will show one from the actual outing with the club.

09. Cyclist
This is another participant from last weekends triathlon. There was a 750m swim, 30 km bicycle ride and 5 km run. Also held that day was a duathlon with a 5 km run, 30 km bicycle ride and then another 5 km run.
As much as I like to exercise, I think this is a little much for me. I have never enjoyed running, though love to cycle.

02. Found in my Backyard
I found this little guy in my backyard about to meet the gallows that would have been my shovel. Camouflage may not always work in your favour if a sharp object is heading perilously close to your head. Fortunately, I saw him with enough time to divert the shovel away from it's intended location.
A few minutes posing for the camera should be payment enough saving his life!

01. Iguana and Tulum
Leanne and I are back from our honeymoon, mostly settled in and now it is time for me to get back to regular image posting. I received a lot of comments from people encouraging me to keep up the posting and I thank everyone for that (I will respond to all of your emails as well as things continue to settle down).
We went to Playa del Carmen in Mexico for our honeymoon where we took several trips (can't spend the whole time swimming back and forth to the swim up bar!). This photo is of an iguana sunning itself on one of the Mayan ruins at Tulum. In the background are the steps up the main temple (El Castillo). This was the hottest day of our trip, we were both burned a little that day and this site offers almost no shade. Leanne was able to find a small tree to hide under while I walked around photographing some more.
Even on our honeymoon, Leanne cannot escape the photographer she married!
