22. Sunrise Panorama
This is another panorama of a sunrise. This one was shot this past Sunday, again in Fort Erie. Fort Erie is about 1/2 hour south of Niagara Falls, in Canada, for anyone who may not know.
This image is a composite of 9 photographs. The photos were shot in a vertical fashion before stitching together. Once stitched and cropped to eliminate any areas without image (which usually happens when creating a panorama), I ended up with a 48.5 megapixel image which works out to be a 27 megabyte .jpg at maximum quality.
A larger version (but not fullsize) can be viewed here. View image

20. Allis-Chalmers
This is the front of and old Allis-Chalmers tractor. I shot this at Morning Star Mill last weekend.
A couple of other shots from the mill may be found at:

This is the saw blade that was featured in yesterdays photograph. The blade was probably 36 inches across. Photographed at Morningstar Mill in St. Catharines, Ontario.

14. Morning at Fort Erie
For the first time in several months, we had a acceptable morning for shooting. The sun broke through the clouds for a little and we had some nice colour in the sky, which resulted in a few nice reflections in the water as well. Some people can't understand why I hope we get a nice cold spell and some snow, but I've had enough of the poor shooting days.
Though I typically am not a fan of flare in my images, I thought this was kind of interesting. If you look carefully, you can also see the windfarm in Buffalo right under the sun.
I will post a few other images from the morning in the coming days as well as some shots I took while out with Dave the day before.

11. Bleak
We have been having some pretty poor weather. By poor weather I mean driving snow one day when we were out shooting, then overcast, poor light, and little to no snow another day. This week it has been warm and all of the snow has melted leaving a pretty ugly landscape to photograph.
Dave and I are going out tomorrow morning so hopefully will get a nice clear morning.

02. Winter Wonderland
John and I were out first thing yesterday morning. While we had only a mild dusting of snow when we left, we soon ran into very poor driving conditions so headed back to Niagara Falls. We ended up shooting at the School of Horticulture.
On another note, I am in the processing of updating this website to correspond with the design of my professional website, http://www.ChrisEmpey.com.
