04. Self Portrait #6

20060104.jpg
f8 1/8 sec

I don't really want to complain about the weather, it's been fairly warm so my heating bills should be down, my time spent shovelling has been almost non-existant, but I have not been able to get any decent winter shots.

This is yours truly.

Excellent shot Chris. What lighting were you using? Also what lens, because that is pretty damn crisp.

Thanks Justin. I shot this with a bank of four 13w, daylight balanced flourescent lightbulbs (1300 Lumens each) oriented vertically on the left side of the photo, a little forward of my face. They were position about 18-24 inches from my face. I had a piece of white ripstop nylon in front of the bulbs for diffusion. You can see in the reflection of my eye the shape of the light and see To the right of my face was a second piece of ripstop used as a reflector to lessen the harshness of the lighting. It was shot with Canon EFII USM 28-80 lens at 80mm, f8, 1/8 second, 100 ISO. I don't think I have any tricks left on this one.
