As simple as this image is, the process in capturing it was not. To get the nice reflection in the water and to isolate the three reeds from the rest of the clutter of the background meant I needed to get down almost to eye level with the reeds. The problem though was that Jen and I were on a small trail and the water was about 24” down from the trail. I needed to get down on my belly, hanging over the edge of the walkway with the wood border of the fence digging into my stomach. I also needed to be hanging over the edge far enough to get the correct perspective of the in the photo, which were several feet away. With my arms outstretched, and my stomache being jabbed with the wood, I was able to capture a few shots. The things we will do for a photo.

What a beautiful capture…definitely worth the discomfort!
Thank you Janet.
