Another studio shot. I’ve used one small flash to the right of the bottle and glass aimed at the background for a high key effect with another to the front left diffused by several layers of diffuser for a softbox type illumination. I did try to ignite the shot glass but it would not stay lit. Surprising for a 100 proof spirit. I’ll try this again another time with Black Sambuca. That one will work I believe. If not, more fun trying!

How did you get the cracked effect in the shot glass?

  2. Chris Says:

It was actually tin foil I placed behind the glass to reflect some light back into the liquid when it was lit from the front, but the foil wasn’t flat. I should have removed the foil for the side r back lit shots but neglected to.

Have you tried any macro shots with a viscous liquid in a glass?

    Hi Chris -

Love the shot and was wondering if I could use it to illustrate something in my blog. I tentatively have it up and credited to you but if you want me to take it down just let me know. I’ll send an email as well.

    Cheers
